Steve Macek earned his master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Ursuline College. Since then, he has been working as an art therapist with adult medical patients at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland. Steve recognizes the mind-body-spirit connection in healing and health, and has been working to assist patients by facilitating support groups, teaching relaxation techniques, and encouraging emotional awareness, strength, and balance with counseling methods and art therapy interventions. His media of choice includes drawing and photography.
His particular interests are in helping adults with mood and anxiety disorders. Steve uses eclectic and integrative approaches of therapy with his clients to match his client’s needs. He does have a particular affinity to Rogerian and Existential theories in helping others manage their challenges.
